Jen & John’s Engagement
Wildlife and Blue Steel. That was the theme of Jen & John’s engagement shoot in downtown Toronto today. It wasn’t as cold as last week which made it a lot easier for us as we walked from location to location to location.
We started with a little skating. The original plan was to shoot at Nathan Phillips Square but I came across the rink at Ryerson which looked like a hidden gem, and we didn’t have to battle with the crowds.

I love the look of old side streets… They give so much character to the shots.

Randomly, a man walked by and put bird seed on the ground. I asked a couple kids who were walking by to scare the pigeons for us to add a little action to the shot and they were more than happy to help us out.

It’s not every day that you see a camel out on the streets of Toronto. Amanda from the Toronto Zoo and the camel’s handler were great to let Jen & John pose with him. (Yes, his tongue was like that the whole time!)

We paid for the subway just to take this shot. We didn’t even ride!

Last but certainly not least… BLUE STEEL!

I think we got a blue steel shot out of every place we went, but this is by far my favourite. These two should be models I tell you!
This happy couple was a blast to hang out with, and we shot more than the standard 2 hours just because we had so many ideas and places that we wanted to shoot. And don’t worry – No camels were harmed in the taking of these photos.

Holy smokes that was fast! These shots are great and I’ve already proudly forwarded them to people.
I’m so excited looking at them – I really can’t stop smiling. The day was so much fun and you were amazing to work with! We can’t wait to see the whole set.
