Earlier on in the summer I met up with Susan & David for their engagement session at Adamson Estate in Mississauga. It’s a place I had never been to before even though I went to high school just around the corner so it brought back some memories driving through that area again.

Old Montreal Engagement Session | Sophie & Phil

Sophie and Phil have a long distance relationship between Toronto and Montreal. They travel back and forth visiting each other all the time whenever they can. When we talked about what to do with their engagement session to really make it them, it was clear it had to be in Montreal.

We decided to do some goofy shots in front of the cartoon graffiti TV.

I headed up to Ottawa to meet up with Sarah & Dennis for their engagement session a little while ago. We headed over to the famous ByWard Market area for their shoot where we found countless places to take some photos.

Definitely my favorite photo of the session. Sarah & Denis have great chemistry and I can’t wait for their wedding in the Distillery District next year.

In the flower shops of the ByWard Market, the shop keepers were really nice to let us pose in their areas.

Edwards Gardens Engagament | Linda + Ted

Linda & Ted have such a great story of how they met. It’s one of those stories you hear in movies and TV but rarely ever hear in real life. They met on a flight. Just two random people on a plane who happen to sit next to each other. Little did they know at that instant it would amount to this.

We did their engagement session at Edwards Gardens (Toronto Botanical Gardens). It’s a great place with countless bridges, river and great paths. I will be posting their wedding shortly so for now, I leave you with pictures.

Cottage Engagement Session | Rita + Adam

I’ve known Rita & Adam for a few years now. We met up at my cottage through a mutual friend and I can’t say enough about how great of a couple they are. One passion they share is the love for camping and canoeing. Every year I see them at the cottage with their canoe on the roof of their car so they can paddle around the lake together.

When it came time to discuss their engagement session the obvious choice was a trip to the cottage. This is the first engagement session I’ve done from a moving boat (while driving it) and can’t wait to do another engagement session up at the cottage next month.

Brickworks Engagement Session | Anna Maria + Lakis

My first engagement session of the season. We kicked it off at Evergreen’s Brickworks which is just minutes from my home/studio. This was the first chance I’ve had to explore the premise even though it’s so close to me. It was a perfect spot for Anna Maria and Lakis who are getting married later this year.

Farm Engagement Session | Angela & Matthew

When Angela & Matthew let me know they wanted their engagement shots done at Matt’s family farm I was really excited at all the possibilities we would have around the property. Needless to say there were many and was a blast to shoot.

Starting off where they got engaged.

Of course, everyone loves new portrait shots for facebook

I did a lot of climbing for this session. Up and around hay bales, ladders, and old barn structures.

This was a particularly difficult shot to get, but I don’t think they minded as I got into position. The looked comfy enough.

Eddie loved attention and decided he wanted his picture taken.

Maybe a little too much of a close up.

Did I mention they are really strong people? I couldn’t help myself when I saw this tree in the forest!

I had always wanted to do a photo session in a field of hay! Finally got one!

Bolton Engagement Session | Soula & Cameron

It isn’t too often I have the chance to shoot around the corner from where I live but I was excited when Cameron gave me a call to set up their session. We headed to a local park for for the lush green trees that make up Bolton’s great landscape.

Something I sometimes do while doing engagements to have a bit of fun is suggest a bit of a leg lift if they really love each other. Cameron was happy to oblige! Just a little different than I expected

Cameron and Soula have a great story in how they met and it involved Cameron selling Soula a car. So when Cameron mentioned the inclusion of a Dodge Viper in their engagement shoot, well… I was more than happy! By the way, if anyone is looking for a new Honda, I know a guy.

I just couldn’t pass up this sign.

Last stop was at the old town hall. It has long since been the town hall, but it has a lot of great character and a perfect backdrop for the couple.

Lee-Anne & Tyson’s Engagement Session

Yesterday I had a great time with Lee-Anne & Tyson who are getting married in September around the Harbourfront area.

We decided to do some urban exploring around the city. I don’t ever remember going on a street car before and they took me on one for the first time. Can you tell I don’t use public transit much? It happens when you are from a town that doesn’t any.

Those in Toronto may recognize some of these spots.

I thought this one was hilarious. I don’t know why but I just had to take a picture like this.

I could only let them be serious for so long!

Nicole & Philip’s Engagement Session

I met Nicole about a week ago and we set up their engagement session for today. We had planned to do some shots in the abandoned mill where I shot Nicole & Craig’s E-session back in October. Well, the place was completely blocked off and since we weren’t in the mood to climb barbed wire fences we headed off through Georgetown for a little fun.

I had a blast with these two, and after today I am even more excited to shoot their wedding in August at Hockley Valley resort (should be a beautiful location!).

Since we weren’t climbing fences, I got them to climb a tree. I thought it was a suitable substitution.

We headed up to the train tracks for some fun shots.

The whole time we were up there I was hoping for a train to come… And it DID!

We tried something a little more different for this one. More of a fashion-inspired shot than a typical engagement shot.

After the tracks we headed to the main street of Georgetown in search of some interesting backdrops. I love nicely textured walls in shade. Since it was so hot it was nice to get out of the sun, too.

After main street my trusty GPS directed us to the closest park to play on the swings. Nicole was nice enough to stop swinging to get a few shots off

After all, it’s only fair to give a ride too!
