I’ve been off the radar a bit lately. Much more than I had wanted or planned. I have a lot of big changes happening, both in my life and business in 2010. So, I’ve been putting off posting blogs (though I have a lot stored up!) as I prepare for these new things.

The first and biggest piece of news is that I will now truly be from Toronto. I have always stated that I’m a “Toronto Wedding Photographer,” but I really live in Bolton (just north of Toronto). Today though, I got the keys to my new house. It’s close to the subway, highway, and will be my new home studio. In short, it’s perfect.

I have no idea why there are so many keys. I only bought a house with 2 doors, and there are 4 different keys. I love mysteries. I am hoping for an underground, hidden and locked area of the house, but I won’t hold my breath.

For any brides out there who are planning their wedding. I will be taking part in the Total Wedding show January 2nd and 3rd at the International Centre. I’m looking forward to setting up my booth, I have spent a lot of time designing and building it.

Also, things will look a bit different around here. Stay tuned. Same great images, different… well, you’ll see!

Well I didn’t have any weddings this weekend, but as per my usual tradition I spent the long weekend at the cottage. The wind was crazy which really prevented any boating from happening (a little disappointing, because I usually spend cottage weekends out on the lake in my boat), so I went on a bit of a photo mission on the back roads with my trusty camera and macro lens.

Over at my friend’s place, his mom has a lot of old antique-looking things around the property like this little setup.

My friend Alicia’s eye. (She’s also an upcoming Bride, getting married in October 2010!)

Let me just throw this out there right now before you read any further: I have no clue about flowers, so I don’t know what they are all called. The first two are trilliums, I do know that since there are thousands of them along the roads in the forest.

Yes, dandelions are weeds, but they can look pretty too. Don’t hate.

I was told that these are called forget-me-nots… I basically drove along the road towards my friend’s place and stopped every time I saw colour and took a picture.

I have no idea what these are called, but they look so cool! EDIT: The flower below is called a columbine. Thanks Heather!

Again, no idea but I love this shot.

Yay, a flower… I mean, a weed I know the name of!

And that was the end of my nature adventure. I was hoping to come across some wildlife, but unfortunately never saw any. But I had been meaning to take a picture of my dog Darcy’s eye for a while now since they are so huge and amber. She didn’t like sitting still for too long, though.

And not to make my other dog jealous, here is Jinx waiting in one of the boats hoping to get a ride soon. I wish I could have gotten one like this on his good side (he only has one eye).

I will be posting more wedding-related stuff in a day or two, so stay tuned for more updates!

I have noticed these lists while looking around the internet at various blogs and fell in love with the idea. It’s a list of goals to strive to complete in the next 1001 days. It works out to be about 2.75 years (1 task every 10 days). By no means do I expect to complete each and every item on the list but I will do my very best to take a decent sized chunk out of it.

I think these lists give a great insight into the personality of the author. Even though this website is for my wedding photography business, it is very much a representation of who I am and who you hire so I thought I would share. Check out my list here!
