When we saw previous work that Jon had done of a destination wedding, it was a no-brainer; we had to have him shoot our special day in Mexico! Jon met with us to discuss all the details beforehand. A few weeks before we left, we reconnected and Jon went over the specifics once more. His prior experience with destination weddings was so comforting! Jon knew what to expect with travel details, how to handle resort policies, and had knowledge of cool local spots where we took photos.

On top of the wedding day, we had Jon shoot an excursion to the Tulum ruins and a Trash-The-Dress session. It was so amazing! Doing these shoots before the main event got us used to Jon snapping pictures and allowed us to connect in the midst of a whirlwind of activity (friends, family, and wedding planning can get crazy!). Jon has a gift of making you feel absolutely comfortable and natural in front of the camera: even underwater.

We had the resort photographer also capture our ceremony because the wedding package included it and we were not allowed to substitute the service for any other. So we made it clear to the wedding planner that Jon would be the primary photographer and the other guy would stay out of his way. The comparison of the results was night and day. We would highly recommend flying Jon Rennie down to ensure you will get your best memories captured.

Jon was prompt and professional from start to finish and he also became a friend in the process. We can’t wait for another excuse to hire him!
