Jon Rennie: The guy behind the camera

Hi, I’m Jon. I’m a wedding photographer based out of Toronto, Ontario. I capture amazing memories of once-in-a-lifetime moments for some of the greatest brides and grooms out there.

I started off with an interest in film and design, but only dabbled in photography at first, never thinking it was going to one day become my career. I entered university with aspirations of becoming the next famous film director, but after my first year I fell out of love with film and made the leap over to photography. I can’t really explain why I was so drawn to photography—there was just something I enjoyed about the lasting moment of a photo. A few years later, I graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Fine Art specializing in photography, but I didn’t know exactly where to set my focus. It was only later that year—after I was invited to my cousin’s wedding in Mexico to be their photographer—that I became totally hooked on weddings.

I try to document every moment of a photo shoot from a creative angle, allowing the personalities of the bride and groom to shine through. Each image, to me, is a piece of art that lines up with the next to document the whole day.
